MAC Viva Glam I. Original and best.

Please excuse the cat hair in the background of the photos, new kitty Morag really likes the bed :)

Hello there, do i have a new lipstick love and a half. Ive been wearing this constantly since i got it.

This is the first ever MAC Viva Glam i have ever bought and it just so happens to be the first ever MAC Viva Glam... and i love it. I'm not into the bright pink that some have been but i do love me a dark lip. This is a wonderfully vampire-y red. Rich and full with a touch of brown to keep it in darker territories.
"The original VIVA GLAM girl is back! The fabulous RuPaul, first face of VIVA GLAM in 1994, returns with her outspoken burgundy red Lipstick - now also available as a Lipglass. For each sale of MAC Viva Glam Lipstick and Lipglass, the full RRP (less VAT) is paid to MAC Aids Fund (registered UK charity number 1147222) and goes towards helping women, men and kids everywhere affected by HIV and  AIDS. "

Having seen all the other Viva Glam editions this is definitely my favourite. You just cant beat an original classic.

Past and Present - Makeup routine

Something very strange has happened to my daily makeup routine in the past few weeks. I have changed every single product that I use. I'm not sure exactly when this happened, or why. But I ain't complaining as I'm liking it a whole lot more.

But it make the post I had sorted out a few weeks back a bit problematic. You see I had all my photos taken and loaded into a draft post to use. Today I found myself going to write it up and realised this isn't actually my makeup routine anymore. So this being a tad of a problem I decided to change this post to a before and after type of thing. I'm going to put up the original post as the before and write a new one for the after, or what it has changed too. I'm thinking I will also write this in two parts so as to not have an epically long post.

This is part 1:) The old (as of last month) makeup routine.

First of here we have the:
  • Bobbi Brown corrector and concealer-  I think anyone who has read this blog of knows me is aware how much i frickkking love these two.
  • The hourglass mineral veil Primer (for when i actually wore one).
  • Bourjois healthy mix concealer - for concealing any redness or blemishes not under my eyes.

  • Benefit They're real Mascara - oh what a love affair we had. Lengthening, volumising, multiplying, taking over the world-ing. This little tub does it all.
  • Maybeline Colour Tattoo in on and on bronze - This stuff is really amazing at staying put all day. I actually have this is the American bad to the bronze as well. Slight colour difference.
  • MUA Eyebrow kit - Simple yet effective
  • Barry M Blink eyeliner in black - This is my favourite eyeliner ever - and I've tried a lot.

  • MAC Mineralize blush in Warm Soul - This is one of my favourite blushes ever. Perfect daytime shade.
  • Yves Saint Laurent Pressed powder - this is very old actually but, hey, its a powder right. Anyway i still love it.
  • Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder - Medium - This is the only thing i will use to contour. Thee. Perfect. Shade! :)
  • Mac Amplified Lipstick - Dramatic Encounter
  • Mac Cremesheen glass - Deelight
Day-um I liked my MAC, still do if I'm honest. Well that's it right there, my old makeup routine. Next week will be my current one.

Sorry I've no been posting I've just been really not well, and i know this post is mostly picture heavy but ohhhhhh wellll:p

MAC Glamour Daze - Holiday Colour

So i may have went a little crazy in MAC (once again) and purchased a few things from their new Christmas collection. I love all of them even if i'm not sure when/how ill use some of them. First off, the "Limited Edition Glamour Daze Packaging" Naw hen. I don't want shiny plastic mac, i like my normal MAC thank you very much, it looks so cheap and tacky, lucky enough whats inside more than makes up for it.

Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel - Catch My Eye  £15.50.

What MAC say "Ultra-smooth, Fluidline's gel formula provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on foolproof with a brush in an easy dip-and-stroke action. Long-wearing. Smudge-proof. Lines up in a rich array of colours and finishes. Brush sold separately. Limited-edition Glamour Daze packaging."
This one still had the normal MAC packaging for some reason but im not complaining.

Look at that colour, its quite hard to describe its a grey/brown colour but with the most intense gold shimmer through it. Its going to look amazing on your eyes in winter subtle but sexy. haha

This is the best picture i could get but it doesn't do it any justice. I love to wear this as an eyeliner and then blend out over the lid a little bit :) Its long lasting and good quality like the usual MAC products.

MAC Amplified Lipstick in Dramatic Encounter £15.50

MAC says "Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street. What made M∙A∙C famous. Limited-edition Glamour Daze packaging."

Now look at that shiny thing there. Wheres the usual sleek MAC packaging, i am not liking it one little bit.
This colour comes out a lot darker than it looks in the bullet which is odd as its usually the other way around. This is described as a deep perple and its pretty accurate. Im all about dark lips at the moment and the fact that this is a great colour and has MAC staying power make it a big win.

Excuse my ridiculously hairy arm there but look at that colour! Its actually even darker on my lips because i have naturally quite dark lips. Also just a thought, how good do MAC lipsticks smell? They are amazing!

Extra Dimention Skinfinish - Whisper of gilt £21.50

What MAC say
"A liquid-powder highlighter with prismatic reflections that sculpts, highlights and models the face. The cool, creamy near-fluid formula creates a luminous, well-defined finish. Wears 10 hours. Limited-edition Glamour Daze packaging."

This is now actually sold out online, im not sure if its available anywhere else. This is the one that im not too sure when ill use it but it was too pretty not too buy. I think its a little too gold to use as an effective highlighter during the day but and night it'll look great.

The bottom picture gives the most true likeness swatch. The first stripe is swatched fairly heavily and the second one is blended out. Its so so so pretty. I actually wore this as an eye shadow a few nights ago for a bit of pop. It last a long time as well just as you would expect.

What have you been snapping up from the new MAC collection?

How much is my face worth?

So I've been so excited to do one of these posts after seeing so many of them. I'm also terrified about what the outcome will be haha. I always find it interesting how surprised by the final price people are and to be honest i don't think ill be any different.
Also can i apologise for the abundance of photos, i got a little carried away.

So before i start i want to put a warning out there, please don't get freaked out my what i use as a primer. haha. Its honestly the best thing I've ever came across for oily skin because of its staying power and drying like a powder. (p.s loads of people actually use it)

1. monistat chafing relief powder-gel - £5.85 for 42g from amazon
It just holds by make-up in place all day and covers and fills every bump and line in my face, its generally my single most cant live without product. Its just a clear gel that glides on perfect and dries matte. It doesn't let my oil get at my makeup for hours either. Will always buy this.

2. L'Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Anti-Redness Primer - £10.29 from boots
This really covers the rosacea on my nose really well. Its great, but i feel it really clings to my pores and emphasises them and looks dreadful so i only use it on top of the monistat. It also stays really green so i would only wear it under makeup. Not sure if id re-purchase this, will prob try something else.

3. No7 Triple Protection Tinted Moisturiser - £11.50 - Boots
This is one of my all time favourite things! It goes on so well and gives good coverage for a tinted moisturiser. Its well protected with all its SPF and lasts ages. I use it in Fair/Medium. Will continue to buy for a long time.

4. MAC Studio Finish Concealer - £14.50 - MAC online
Now i have this in NC15 when i should have it in NW15-20 but hey-ho wee all make the occasional mistake when buying things and i find it works pretty well anyway. I use this on blemishes and the like. mostly on my chin. It has great coverage and i love it. Will buy this again but in the correct shade haha.

5. MAC Prep and Prime Transparent Finishing Powder - £19.50 - MAC Online
I use this whenever im putting my makeup on it just holds in all in place and helps soak up any excess oil throughout the day.

4.  L'Oreal Glam Bronze Duo Sun Powder Brunette Harmony - Free 3 of 2 offer - Boots (Rrp £10.29)
Now this is something that i didn't actually pay that price for, it was on a 3 for 2 offer and this was my free purchase. It works fairly well and i use it most days to give me a little colour and with my blush. Would not re-purchase.

5. Elf Studio Cream Blush - £6.50 - E.L.F
I have this in 'Seductress' and apply it with my eco-tools stippling brush and it goes on perfect and blends so well. For only 6.50 this is a great grab.

6.Benefit Lemon aid - £16.50 - Benefit
If i'm honest i don't like this product this much but i've been lazy and not got round to getting a new eye primer yet so its what i use till then.

7. Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 - £36 from debenhams- £30 from Thomson airways
I got this on the plane heading back from holiday for got it duty free and couldn't resist buying it. It is suck an amazing palette, the shimmer and pigmentation are BEAUTIFUL.
I usually use Half Baked, Tease in the crease, Booty call to highlight and a touch of Busted the the outside corner.

8. L'Oreal Super liner Luminizer Eyeliner - £6.49 - Boots
This is quite an interesting liquid eyeliner that comes in 3 different shades for either blue, hazel or green eyes. Now i got this in Brown because it came in a set even though i have blue/grey eyes. Its a great liner with quite a felt like applicator. it dries quick and lasts ages.

9.L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara - £10.99 - Boots
I have this in waterproof black. Its great at separating and lengthening i also think it adds volume well. Its an all round amazing mascara. Oh and its waterproof properties are amazing. i tested this in the shower where i stood under the spray and rubbed my eyes and it didn't budge. I used it on holiday in the pool too and no smudging or flaking. The only time it did flake was when i was in the sea but i guess that's to do with the salt? (and how much i was splashing?)
10. Benefit Brow zings - £22.50 - Benefit
I have this in medium but could maybe do with dark. I really like it but find it a tad difficult to use but it does make my brown look better as i cursed with genetically sparse and thin eyebrows.

Now i usually only wear one of these but i use all 3 of them so often i included them all:p

11. MAC Lustre Lipstick in Plumful - £10 from duty free
This is the perfect colour for me, it lasts ages (especially when used with lipcote) and i use it all the time.

12. L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick - £7.99 - Boots
I have this in a few shades but the one i always use is 103 Sweet Berry. Its my fave lipstick EVER. Its a weird cross of a lipstick and lip balm but with the full colour of lipstick and i love it.

13. Vaseline Limited Edition Pink Bubbly - £3.49 - Selfridges
This is a fairly new purchase but i love it sooo much and its always in my handbag.

So thats what my face costs haha. Shall we get ready to total it up... well my total is  £186.39.

This may come as a surprise but its actually a lot less than i expected haha. Although this is just my everyday makeup and not all the stuff i own.

What did you all get? Do you think you would be more or less? Anyone have any thoughts on these products.
